  1. Empty Retching
The cure for empty retching is to smother a black hen under a pot, open her, take out her gizzard. Take the coating of the gizzard and boil it in new milk and give it to drink to the person who is suffering.
    Bleeding
To stop bleeding from a wound put a cobweb on the cut. To stop bleeding from the nose place key of a door or some other cold body at the back of the neck.
    Nightmare
The cure for a nightmare is to get three horseshoe nails and hang them around your necks.
    Sore throat
The cure for sore throat is bran warmed over a fire in a pan. Put the heated bran into a stocking and wear it around the neck at night.
