Thursday is considered to be an unlucky day for to get married because it is said that a "Cross Thursday" comes ever seven years. The fourth day after Christmas is the "cross day" of the year and anyone does not get married on that day.
People consider it unlucky to open a grave on New Year's day. If they opened it on that day they would be opening them for the year.
It is unlucky for a person that would be sick to improve of a Sunday because the old people say he is sure to die.
You should not polish your shoes of a Sunday because the cattle would get black quarter.
