    the day before the storm and when he came home that evening he left his cart in the street. That night about twelve o'clock the storm arose and lifted the cart off the yard and threw it in the road and smashed it to pieces.
    People who were out protecting their houses that night said that the sea water was striking them in the faces and blinding and drenching them although they were over a mile from the sea.
