- There is a house in the townland of Finure More and it is customary for the neighbours to go there every night for a chat.
The woman of the house is ignorant and badly educated. One day last April a neighbour went into her and told her that the King of England was going to abdicate and get married to a woman who "divorced" two husbands.
When the neighbours were assembled that night they inquired of her had she any news. She said she had and they asked what was it. She said wasn't sad about the King. They asked her what was wrong with him.
She said he was going to run away and leave his throne to get married to a woman who "devoured" two husbands.
Her neighbours nearly choked with laughter when they heard her misplacing the(continues on next page)
