There is a blessed well to the north of Doolough Lake called St.Ruan's Well.It was first in Poulcoum.
One night a certain woman wanted to boil potatoes and she had no water. The ordinary well was very far away. She was in a hurry and she took some water from the Blessed Well.
The potatoes never boiled and the next morning the Blessed Well was removed to the upper side of Doolough Lake.
