  1. Baskets of every kind for farm use were made locally in Miltown Malbay and are still. They are made from the sally rods cut when young and woven while fresh. These baskets include large turf baskets about two feet square in the bottom and about two feet six inches high scuttles which are saucer shaped and about two feet six inches in diameter and calf baskets which are made to cover a calf's puss and are held only by a string which goes behind the calf's ears
