  1. Tramps come around here generally on race days.
    Different tramps come always namely the Cathys and Caseys of Clare the Burkes and the Dohertys of Laoighis and the Nevins and the Delaneys Kerry.
    There is another tribe of tinkers called the Galway tinkers and these are known as the Mc Donoughs.
    Some of them are sweeps and more of them are musicians
    Carthy visits this town very often and the people have great welcome for him and he camps in the fair green
    They generally sell tincans and saucepans and they manufacture those themselves.
    They carry their stuff in timber budgets and they have those hanging down by their sides by means of a strap
    They sleep in camps and they put a sop of hay under them.
    The tinkers go into houses
