    The Stewards Cross got its name because Ellis steward used to live always in the farmyard near the cross.
    Burn's Hole got its name from a man called Darby Burns who was fishing on a rock and who got drowned there.
    The Flag Road got its name form the big flags that were covering the foot paths long ago.
    Miltown is supposed to take its name from an old wind mill that was there where the market house is now.
    Some people say that the name "Malbay" is derived from the Spanish world "Mal" meaning bad.
    As the coast is so treacherous from Baltard Point to Liscannor it is
