    who would be getting married would go to the fair with a black thorn stick making their childrens matches. The children wouldnt know anything about the marriage until the person with whom the match is made comes to the house.
    A great lot of whiskey used to be drunk at the wedding. No straw boys used to be at the weddings long ago. Pipers used to come to play for the dancers.
