  1. In the olden times the people had very difficult ways for working.
    When they were sowing the potatoes they had to skin the ground with a spade and when that was done they had to put the grass into heaps and burn it and then they had to scatter the ashes on the ground as manure.
    When that was done they had to put a hole on the ground to put the potato into.
    They had to sow the potatoes on ridges and on the mountain sides and those ridges are still visible on the mountain sides
    They had to dig the ground with spades and forks and not with a plough like nowadays
    People of to day cultivated their land with iron and steel implements
    The ground is ploughed and
