When it quinches they put the coles in the fire and put the ashes in the meadow for it is good for the grass and hay. St Brigids Night. On that night the people make a cross with timber or with straw and put it on the roof of the house to honour St Brigid. Every one in the house puts it up in turn every year and it is left there always.
