Dear brother this note I hope will find you quite well
And then of course you must know I wish you good health.
I need not have sworn an oath the same for to tell.
But my blessing I bestow you: no more I can send in this cheque.
For a Brother my dear don't fear we'll never forget
The date of the year I have here and the date that I left
It was many a tear that appeared from my eyes and have shed
For a period of years which I fear oh we'll never have met.
But I would say a little more but not knowing would you like it or not
For I'm not a good poet to compose or to finish a song
Unless yourself might support it with chorus behind to the back
As you did long ago when you spoke of the croppy old ass.
    2
Them that you know that transported the croppy poor ass
