    In olden times this parish of Lisceannuir was part of the present parish of Ennistymon.

    day. Visitors to the district can see the stone pillars about two hundred yards to the west of O'Brien's bridge. This bridge is now the main road from Lehinch to the famous Cliffs of Moher, and about 1 1/2 statute miles from Lehinch. The Seanchaidhe doesn't remember ever having been told the name of the priest who was drowned.

    The Seancaidhe on being asked how long ago it was since the above tragedy took place replied, that it must be over one hundred years.
