Long ago people used to go from house to house singing. One of these men was called Matt Mahon. He used also compose songs as he went from house to house. He used to compose nice songs about those who gave him lodging. He died at the age of 75 years and was buried in Duras graveyard. His father and mother were not able to sing at all yet Matt was one of the best who ever yet composed a song. Some of songs are known by people of the parish.
