Cúram na gCos

Long ago the people used not wear any boots. They used
to dig with a spade barefooted. There is a woman
living in Ballyportrey who very seldom wears boots.
She has a pair of elastics and she wears them going to Mass.

Long ago the old people used to say; you should not
throw out the feet-water after dark because the fairies
might be passing. If they wanted to keep it inside
during the night they should put a coal of fire into
it.
