    Over eighty years ago there lived a man who used go around from house to house in the Corofin district. He used to visit the house of a certain woman regularly, and she was always very kind to him, partly because she liked him and partly because she feared him, as he had the name of being able to work charms. On a certain day she had visitors and when he arrived the servants did not tell her that he was in the kitchen. After a few hours he went away very disgusted.
    That evening the people of the house were making a churn but though they were hours at it, they got no butter. The next week the same thing happened and the third week as they were churning for hours but without success the man again arrived. The woman had great welcome for him and gave him his dinner. She explained to him why she had not seen him the last time. After a while she told him about the butter. “Ah” he said “they are not doing it right mam” He said to the girl who was making the butter “give me that” Taking it from her he continued to churn for a few minutes. He then showed it to her and she was astonished to find as much butter as
