Signs of rain: To hear the Clab rouring loudly. This clob is a hole into which the river Fergus tumbles, and flows underground for half a mile. It is in the townland of Cahermacon.

Signs of rain: The sky becomes dark and gloomy; the cattle run from the flies, the frogs are heard croaking in drains and marsh, the West Clare train makes great noise.
