Hidden Treasure

Near an old building in Kilnaboy known as the Cabhail Mhór is hidden a crock of gold.
Between three large stones this immense treasure is supposed to lie. These three stones can be seen plainly and are situated at the North-Eastern corner of the building.

Tradition says it can be got by ploughing the place between these stones with two white horses. Another condition to the finding of this treasure is that the ploughing while the people are at Kilnaboy mass. One must dream three times of it.

Hidden Treasure

It is said that a pot of gold is hidden near the Cabhail Mhor and bees minding it. If a person got a plough and two white horses, and ploughed the place at the Consecration of the Mass, he would find the gold.

A man heard of the pot of gold being hidden. He got a plough and two white horses and ploughed the place a few minutes before the Consecration of the mass. When he was coming near the gold he saw a cock standing on a stone which prevented him ploughing anymore.
