- The blacksmith of olden days was a very helpful man to the people. Apart from his work at his trade, which in those days was much more brisk than at the present time he gave very valuable service as an animal doctor, using for cures only the pure herb that are so very seldom used in these days.
According to legend, the blacksmith was supposed to be in possession of remarkable powers, that by turning his anvil he could put a spell on anybody who had a grievance against him.
