  1. Dysart is a little village in Clare. It is eight miles from Ennis. In Dysart there is an old round tower and church. St Tolna built this little chapel and Dysart ODea built the tower.
    About a mile from the village there is a big cross, situated on the top of a hill, this cross is called St Tolna's cross. there is a history attached to this cross (as follows) and relates as follows.
    In the penal days a priest who was saying mass on this spot was seen by an (e) English soldier. The soldier reported this to one of the officers in (C) charge, who told him to fire at the candle was covered. The soldier did what
