  1. New Hall or sometimes called Kilone is situated about four miles from Ennis. There is an old story connected with Kilone. It is about a mermaid, and the story is as follows.
    The MacDonnells lived in Clare for many years, and had their residence where Kilone stands to-day. The had a big wine seller beneath the old Abbey which was blown down by Cromwell, and his soldiers.
    The wine became lesser every day, and the butler did not know how this was happening.
