  1. There are several interesting places in my parish if I but knew their history.
    There is a big rock convenient to where I live it is called "Carraig na gCat". There is not much about it at the present day, but in olden times it was haunted by a huge cat. Those who passed that way after midnight and before dawn were sure to see him.
    He was as big as a sheep. His eyes were as large as saucers, and nearly as bright as the lights of a motor car. Everytime he mewed the sound was like the working of machinery
