    There used to be famous racesat Ballycorce near Ennis up to 25 years ago.
    25 . 5,000 people assembled at Gigg's forge midway between Ennis and Corofin to witness an interparish bowling contest.The parishes taking part were Dysart Drumcliff ,Barefield ,Ruan,Kilmaley and Doora.This would be over 40 years ago.
    25.Laghachtaí O Loughlin from Doora was a famous bowles Jim Mc Mahon of Fountain, was one of the best bowlers in Clare.

    To find a horseshoe is lucky -hang it behind the door .Every nail means seven years luck.
    If a knife falls a man is coming to the house,if a spoon falls a woman is coming.
    If a cock crows in the door it is a sign of good news .If he stands at the door and crows outwards somebody is leaving .If a cock crows before midnight it is a warning of death.Sometimes a cock crows for luck ,other times something bad is going to happen.
