    The greater part of the vast possession of Donal O'Brien,Lord Clare were granted by William during the Williamite confiscations to Joost Van Keppel.Earl of Abbemarle .The properties were resold by Abbermarle to Nichlos Westby,Francis Barton and James McDonnell in the year 1689-(History of Clare and the Dalcassion Clans by p.94-Dean White-)Old Marcus Keane (agent) .Westby gave a present of Knockatona and Rathcrona to old Marcus Keane.Old Marcus Keane maried Westby's daughter .A lot of widows cursed Marcus Keane A lot of people evicted died on roadsides.went to the workhouses,a good many to to Sydney and Australia .When Parnell came the people of Kilmaley began to shoot bailiffs.Michael Griffey of Raithín was shot because he granted Gallery's land.His son lives in Garrynagry today.There was great affection for Parnell in this parish .Old Marcus Keane was buried in a vault in Kilmaley .His coffin and that of
