    The Land lord.
    12th October 1938.
    About thirty years ago all the Irish lands were owned by land- lords. Captain O Callaghan was land-lord for a while but Lord Francis Cunningham held the lord-ship for several years in this district.
    The people had great respect for for those two land lords as they never made their tenants over pay for the land and besides they never liked to have people evicted out of their lands.
    In my townland of Kilcolumb tenants were evicted, two were evicted out of Lisroe together with several others all over the country who were unable to pay their rent.Some of these poor people bought people bought small farms with a little money which they earned by herding ,while others spent their money herding for the farmers who owned large farms of land.
    Those land lords were the descendants of Cromwell's soldiers.Cromwell divided the country amongst his men giving large properties to each of them and the descendants of these were the land lords who
