  1. The cholera was well-known in this district. A hospital was situated was where Mr. D Sheedy is now living in the village. The people say the doctor who attended the patients was the last one to die there.
    A field called the camp field situated at Carhugar got its names from the fact that the soldiers from the military barracks left to take up residence there in camps during the plague. Some of the people were buried in the church yard in the hill.
