- People in different parts of the country have many foolish supertitions about certain nights throughout the year.
On november's Eve the young boys and girls place beans on a red coal by the fireside, and each pair of beans gets the name of a boy and a girl. If they remain together until they are burned into ashes it is believed that they will get married.
They also place four saucers on the table, one containing earth, another containing a rosary bead, water in another, and a ring in another.
Then each person is blindfolded and walks straight to where the saucers are laid in the table. It is believed that whatever person touches the ring with her finger will be married before that time again, and(continues on next page)- Collector
