    Cure for Hic-Cough
there are two cures for hic-cough (strongly believed still to be effective) in this district :-
    (1) If the sufferer is handed a drink of water without wishing for or asking for it he will be immediately cured.
    (2) If somebody frightens him or her there will be an immediate cure. this is generally done by accusing the sufferer of having done something wrong. He (or she) will then get excited- The excitement is supposed to effect the cure.
I have seen those two "cures" performed several times myself and they invariably proved effective.
