    Monday for health,
    Tuesday for wealth,
    Wednesday the best day of all.
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for crosses and
    Saturday no day at all.
    They always like to have a fine day because it is said :-
    Happy is the bride that the sun shines on;
    Happy is the corpse that the rain rains on.

  2. In Tipperary they always make a match. Making a match means that the man that is going into the girl's house goes to the girl's house and sees if it is worth all the money he is going to give; and if both sides are satisfied they have a dinner and then they are married in about a week.
