  1. (1) There is said to be gold hidden in a field near Coill Ruadh (Coolrua) quarry. It was placed there by the Dwyers of Kilnamanagh at the time Cromwell invaded the castle. This well was opened by the sappers but a soldier appeared to them. There is gold and silver hidden in this well but the supposed amount of money is not known because when the Dwyers were burying the money
