  1. A man was once killed in Ballyirnen (?) near Árd Mór and a sister of the man who killed him came to the wake and there was a little girl with her. The dead boy's mother said:-
    "Cím cugam isteach
Cú mhór bhuidhe marbtha na bhfear
    Coileán óg le n-a h-ais
    Cuiridh uaim í amach
Nó déanfidh ar mo chroidhe dá leath"
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
  2. Beannacht na naomh is na n-aingeal
Is beannachta gach n-aon eile dár aithnis,
Agus na bheannacht feín leat gan ainnir (stain)
go dtí Rioghacht geal na Glóir.
NOTE:- I've been unable to get in touch with this man until quite recently - he has a big collection of rhymes, Beannachts etc. and I shall collect them later.
