    God grant us shady victory
    From cursed English laws.

    Our sacrifices have been great
    In the cause of mother-land
    In blood, we have learned a hymn of hate
    For all the Saxon band.

    Our gallant sons have bravely died
    On mountain, hill and plain
    And we, who live, have nobly tried
    To break the galling chain.

    A cause like ours must succeed
    Though long the struggle be.
    And Freedom's Flag aloft shall float
    O'er a nation proud and free.

    Oh, God of justice give your aid
    To nerve us in the dray
    And help us now to rid this land
    Of the cruel tyrant's sway.
