  1. Oh, for famed Glen of Aherlow
The day is near at hand
When I must bid a long farewell
To all the scenes so grand
With your pastures green and woods between
    And the Galtees towering o'er
It grieves my heart that I must part
    From thee for ever more.
    II
Although I have the grand old glen
    As if by Fate's decree
And see no more my native home
    And cross the briny sea.
Those woods and hills and rippling rills
    I'll ne'er forget although,
The Atlantic wide shall us divide
    "Sweet Glen of Aherlow"
    III
To you, my comrades, one and all
I now must bid good bye
For the time of my departure
    Is quickly drawing nigh
My toast will be across the sea,
    To whatevr clime I go
Of the Prince, so kind I left behind
    In the Glen of Aherlow.
