  1. Long ago there lived here in Lisvernane an old woman named Judy Lynch who used to dust the church. A few days before Christmas she was working, dusting the statue of St Joseph. The duster got caught in the neck of the statue and it fell on the floor. The statue got broken and poor Judy was in terrible trouble and turning to the altar with her hands joined she exclaimed, "Jesus and Mary" I have St. Joseph killed .
