The old people had alot of customs for instance they believed that it was god luck to meet a black cat. If you came across a horse-shoe and kissed it, then threw it over your shoulder it would bring you good luck. Or if you found a bit of coal and burned it in the first fire you met it would bring you good luck.One Magpie for sorrow
