  1. Come in and sit down gentle Kathleen,
For I have a good news for thee
Come in and sit down my old darling
"Come in" cried the old vanithee.
The old woman's face it grew brigher!
Ah Kathleen a cara she cried
Shure I had the gallant irregulars
In my little cabin last night.
In the morning just as the cocks were crowing
A loud knock came to my door
I thought it was the boys were returning.
From the raffel beyond in Rossmore.
I peeped through a slit in the window
Such a grand sight my own eyes did see
    They were the gallant irreguars
Wearing Eireanns old banner of green
It was quietly they entered my cabin
And stacked up their guns on the floor
It is a cold night cried the bold captain
To be crossing along dreay black Moors.
Come fill us a drink and we will pay you.
Though we are traitors to England's proud queen
