place the snail on a thorn in a white thorn bush. While the snail is withering the warts will wither also.
Whooping cough: The father of the child should wait on the roadway until a grey horse passes by. Then he sould ask the horseman to give him a cure for the whooping cough. The horseman would pass the child out under the horse, and any further instructions he might come to give the father would be sufficient to cure the child.
Sores: A scollop would be placed in the thatch. On Shrove Tueaday the fattest piece of bacon would be boiled and put on the scollop to be used afterwards for a sore of any kind.
