  1. Jack O'The Lantern
Throughout Ireland Jack O'The Lantern has appeared to many.
This apparition is a small man with a lighted lantern held in his hand who is generally seen in marshy land.
It is said that it is a good plan when this man appears to turn one's coat inside out.
A man named Patrick Dwyer who was out late one night saw this light, he thought it was a bicycle coming towards him.
As he approached it disappeared and as he turned to go home he was unable to do so.
He was walking up and down the road during the night until about six o'clock in the morning.
At daybreak he found he was apposite his own gate.
