  1. One day a crow came to a farmer's haggard and took 5 young ducks and from that forward seemed to get so clever that he used to come every day and take one until at last it was found out what was lessening the clutch and immediately a trap was laid by placing a little poison in two or three eggs near where he used to get his prey and when he saw them so nicely laid he came at once and took one of them, and immediately came back himself and his companion another crow to take the other two away, but commenced to drink them and died on the spot.
