A rainbow is one of the signs of rain. The old proverb is often correct.
A rainbow in the morning is a shepard's warning.
A rainbow in the night is a shepard's deilght.
A rainbow can only occur when the clouds containing the rain are opposite the sun. In the evening the rainbow is in the east and in the morning in the west as our heavy rains are usually brought by the westerly winds. A rainbow in the west indicates that bad weather is coming to us and the rainbow in the east proves that the rain these clouds clouds is passing from us.
