  1. Droichead na nGabhar. Until the year there was only a ford at this place and stepping stones to get across. When the bridge was built the first to cross it were two goats hence the name Goats Bridge. There is a legend that whatever time of the night you pass the bridge you are sure to meet some one. a ghost was supposed to be seen there. One man was telling another about it and the latter said that if he was a friend of his he would stop and speak to him. The very next night when this man was returning home after a game of cards he saw the ghost and of course he got a terrible fright and ran away. He then arranged with a few others to go to the stepping stones at Droicheadh na nGabhar to see the ghost. They went along one night and sure enough the ghost was there. The man collapsed . His friends knowing the old saying that a ghost cannot cross water, took him up and carried over the river and then home. The man died in a few days.
