The following story is told about the Old Smith called Dunne. He was a very powerful man, and a great smith but he was a it fond of drink. The P. Priest of this parish heard of this and came one Monday morning to reprimand him. Poor Dunne had been on a batter on Sunday night but he got word that the P.P was coming on horseback to see him. He went into the forge and reddened the sock of a plough as red as he could. He then took it to the step of the door and got two sledges and started hammering at the red sock. He put sparks flying in all directions and at the same time was saying "Little hell a fear bhocht, little hell a fear bhocht"(continues on next page)
