Bhí sean scoil i Ruan, Caisleán Nua i bpáirc Muinntir Lonergán uair amháin de Pádraig Ó Noonan a bhí 'na máighistir ann. Duine ón gceanntar abh eadh é agus bhíodh sé 'na cómhnuidhe i Ruan. Gach maidin Domhnaigh tar- éis agus roimh an chéad Aifrinn bhíodh sé ag múinneadh na páistí agus deireadh siad an Choráin Mhuire i nGaedhilg gach lá. Pinn déanta as chleití gé a bhíodh aca cun scríobh. Ní raibh aon bhinnsí aca ins an scoil ach clocha móra. Bhíodh ana mheas ag na múinnteóirí ar an nGaedhilg agus bhídís a labhairt i gcómhnaidhe.
