  1. Spounch or poor man's cabbage is the most harmful weed growing. This weed destroys the crops. The red deck root is a cure for ulcers in the mouth. The elder berry is used for dyeing. The good leaf which grows with the potatoes, and goes away with them is said to be a cure for a burn.
