Woodcock, duck and plover migrate. The plover builds its nest in bogs. Pigeons build their nests in hedges and trees.
Boys are told they will get sore hands if they rob bird's nests. When wild geese are seen it is a sign of bad weather. When sea gulls fly inland it is a sign of a storm. The robin is supposed to have wiped our Saviour's wound with his breast so that is how the robins got their red breasts.
