    The following are some typical English names:
    The pond field.
    The twenty one acres.
    The race field
    Mara's field. (Family who lived there long ago)

    (A big number of fields have this type of name.)

    The paddock
    The fort field
    The Kiln field.
    I observed that where a family has lived in the same farm for some generations many of the old Irish names are remembered and are still called on the fields.
