  1. Long ago people used to eat corncakes adn potato cakes.
    They used to have potatoes and milk with every meal. The milk they used to drink with the potatoes was either skim milk, butter milk, or sour milk. They used to eat meat but it was salted meat. They used to drink tea but only on a Sunday with the tea they used to eat stirabout which is now called porridge.
    On Easter Sunday they used to eat nothing but eggs.
