  1. There are three Forges in Cahir. One is alongside Cahir Creamery another is in Lower Abby Street and the other about a mile out the Mitchelstown Road. It is situated at a cross roads. The door is shaped like a horseshoe. There is an iron anvil in it. It has a wooden floor and one fire. There is a stream running close to it. The forge in Lower Abby Street is near a cross roads.
