  1. There are two forges in Cahir. One of them is on Lower Abbey Street beside a crossroad and the other is on the Clonmel road. The one in Lower Abbey Street has a horse-shoe-like look, at the door to show it is a forge. The roof is made of slates. The man shoes horses and asses When the man is making shoes for horses he uses a tongs to hold the shoes
