  1. The birds in my district are mostly blackbirds, crows, thrushes, robins, tits, wrens, skylarks, starlings, sparrows, pigeons, magpies and finches. The migratory birds are swallows and wild geese.
Robins are not so common as other birds. They are brown and have a red breast. They are sometimes called robin red breast. In mossy banks or ditches they build their nests and have four or five eggs which are white spotted with red.
Sparrows are a little bigger than a wren. There are two kinds, house and hedge sparrows. The hedge sparrows build their nests in a bush or hedge.
